A Chinese Memory

The Chinese Grand Prix returns this weekend, and it reminded me of a memorable experience.

During the event’s second year, Richard West and I ran a “Performance at the Limit” event for a major Chinese enterprise, built around our newly published book.

We started at their headquarters with a “Business Lessons from Formula 1” workshop for senior leaders and key clients, including a Pitstop Challenge featuring an F1 car we had flown in from the UK.

Then we all headed to the Chinese Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit. Sharing a few photos from that weekend — including Richard sharing his wisdom, and a younger me with a very young Nico Rosberg, who had just signed with Williams F1 Team.

Rosberg would go on to win the Formula One World Drivers’ Championship in 2016 with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, taking 23 Grand Prix victories across his 11-year career in F1.

Formula 1 moves fast — in more ways than one.
