I have always been fond of two phrases, attributed to many different people, that have had relevance for me in sports and in business.
“The more I practice, the luckier I get.”
“Luck is preparation waiting for an opportunity.”
Whether it was practice, luck, skill, or all combined the sunlight in Helsinki’s Olympic Stadium shone on Daniel Håkans last evening. He is a 22-year-old forward who was making only his second appearance with the Finnish National Team.
Håkans came on as a second half substitute and proceeded to score a hat trick IN JUST UNDER 10 MINUTES.
Finland dominated the match against San Marino, winning 6-0. The score line would have been even higher if it were not some athletic saves by the San Marino goalkeeper.
Sometimes things just fall into place and go right. On the football pitch or in business, those moments should be celebrated.
