Technology and People hand in hand

After they generously hosted the ‘Leadership Lesson from Formula 1’ event I did with the RBL Group at the YUPIX facility in Miami, I jumped at a chance to experience the virtual reality capabilities at their London office during my visit this week.


Guided by Theodore Trier I soared over Miami and flew to the top of the Waldorf, a 100-story building which when completed in 2027 will be the tallest in Florida. I visited a few floors, attended a cocktail reception and toured the penthouse.


The introduction of the experienced explained the origins of the  Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York City and I had the unnerving experience of  standing in the middle of Park Avenue in front of the iconic hotel warily watching yellow taxis heading in my direction. Looking uptown past the cabs, I could also see the 399 Park Avenue building I worked at for six years early in my career.


After the experience, I learned that Theodore is a big Formula 1 fan. We talked about the interface that exists between YUPIX's cutting edge virtual reality technology and the human experience, agreeing it is comparable to THE partnership in F1 between the most advanced engineering in motorsport delivering high performance racing by and through human intervention.
